We kindly ask you to inform us of your time of arrival a few days in advance.
Check-in is between 14.00 and 18.00. Our guests can also arrive at Relais Cavalcanti in the morning after 9.00 and leave their bags with us if their room isn’t yet ready.
It’s possible to organise a late check-in – after 18.00 but before 23.00. In this case it’s necessary to make an appointment.
FROM THE TRAIN STATION OF SANTA MARIA NOVELLA:
Relais Cavalcanti is easily reached from the train station of Santa Maria Novella (about 15 minutes on foot – 3 minutes by taxi). Taxis are available outside the station and the cost is between 7 and11 euros.
If you don’t have heavy bags it’s easy to reach us on foot though it’s advisable to have a map.
Leaving the station by the exit to the left (where there’s a chemist), cross at the traffic lights and head to the right towards PIAZZA DELL’UNITA’. Continue straight ahead to VIA PANZANI and then VIA DE’ CERRETANI. Take the first road on the right VIA DEI VECCHIETTI and then VIA DE’ SASSETTI until the road finishes in the small piazza of PIAZZA DAVANZATI. Then take the only road on your left VIA PORTA ROSSA. The first road on your right you arrive at is VIA PELLICCERIA and we are next to the Pub ” The Old Stove”, at number 2.
Attention: There are no signposts outside!!! There is only a small bell to the right of the door of number 2.
HOW TO REACH US by CAR:
We strongly suggest you not to come to Florence by car. It’s hard driving (most of the streets are one way) and very easy to get lost.From Monday to Saturday from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. and from 11.00 p.m. to 3.00 a.m. you are allowed to drive in some part of the city centre just to park your car into a garage. You cannot park anywhere inside the center except than into the garages. TRAIN IS THE EASIEST WAY TO GET HERE.
If you have a rented car we suggest you drop off your car at the car rental office first and then get a taxi to our place.
ABOUT PARKING PLACE:
About parking place: We suggest you “Garage delle Terme”, which is located in VIA DELLE TERME 47/49 red, just 2 minutes walking far from where we are. You can get all the information about it on its website:

No need to book it in advance but please follows their website indication to get there easily.
Once parked your car please continue straight and turn to the first narrow street you will find on your left, which continues in VIA PELLICCERIA, right where we are. We are on the right side of VIA PELLICCERIA, at number 2, next to the OLD STOVE IRISH PUB. When facing the OLD STOVE IRISH PUB our front door is to the immediate left.
The communication to the police of your car entrance inside the city center must be done by the Garage within 2 hours. So please keep their receipt as we cannot help you for any fine or ticket you might get.
We are on the right side next to the OLD STOVE IRISH PUB, at number 2. There is no big sign outside but there is just a little bell door saying “Relais Cavalcanti”. You cannot miss it because it’s the only door next to the OLD STOVE IRISH PUB.>
HOW TO REACH US FROM PERETOLA AIRPORT:
From Florence Airport the best way to arrive here is by taxi. It takes about 20 minutes and it costs about 25,00/30,00 euro. There is a TRAM T2 too which leaves often for PIAZZA DELL’UNITA’, which is located about 10/15 minutes walking far from where we are. Please follow the indication above..
HOW TO REACH US FROM PISA AIRPORT:
From Pisa airport you can catch the train or bus to Florence. Both take you to the station of Santa Maria Novella. Continue as indicated above.
We’ll be happy to direct you to a nearby garage.
